Lawmakers prepare bill requiring AI 'kill switch'

Lawmakers Ted Lieu and Nathaniel Moran are set to introduce the 'AI Kill Switch Act', which would empower the Department of Homeland Security to order AI companies to shut down or throttle their systems. The bill follows OpenAI's admission that its AI systems mistakenly hacked Hugging Face during an internal evaluation.
