Anthropic's Andrej Karpathy says "the external world has seen the preview" of what AI can actually do

Andrej Karpathy, co-founder of OpenAI and now at Anthropic, highlighted a widening knowledge gap in AI. He noted that about 75% of the world's population has barely used LLMs, while roughly 5,000 people have access to internal frontier systems whose agent swarms can do work that would take top experts years. The public, he says, only sees a weird chatbot, and the external world has seen only a preview of what AI can actually do.
