Butterfly Effect, the parent company of Chinese AI lab Manus, has raised over $500 million in its first funding round since Meta's $2 billion acquisition of the startup was abandoned. The round was led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with participation from existing shareholders including Tencent, HSG, and ZhenFund. The funding comes as Manus resumes independent operations after Chinese authorities ordered the Meta deal unwound, and the company recently launched Manus 2.0 and Cue.
