Alibaba Releases Qwen3.8-LiveTranslate Real-Time Speech Translation Model

Alibaba has released Qwen3.8-LiveTranslate, a real-time speech translation model that can listen, translate, and speak simultaneously. The upgrade focuses on four capabilities: streaming speaker diarization with voice preservation, synchronized source and target text output, disambiguation using long context and static image frames, and reduced streaming latency. In FLEURS tests, the average lag behind the original speech dropped from 2.8 seconds in the previous generation to 2.3 seconds.
