Former OpenAI Researcher Launches Jev Model That Skips Text Generation for Direct Decisions, 200x Faster

Diogo Almeida, a former OpenAI researcher, has unveiled Jev, a new AI model from his startup TypeSafe AI that outputs structured judgments, probabilities, and confidence scores instead of natural language. TypeSafe claims Jev is up to 200 times faster and over 400 times cheaper than frontier LLMs in specific structured workflows, and has raised $40 million in seed funding led by DCVC at a valuation of about $200 million.
