Arc Institute Unveils STATE: An AI Model for Cross-Cell Prediction

Researchers from Arc Institute, in collaboration with Stanford and other institutions, have published a study in Cell introducing STATE, an AI-driven virtual cell model. Leveraging a Transformer architecture trained on over 260 million single-cell data points, STATE accurately predicts cellular responses to drug and gene perturbations across diverse contexts, overcoming previous limitations in generalization. This advancement holds significant potential for accelerating drug discovery and reducing experimental costs.
