Discovered Materials Raises $9M to Deploy AI Agents in Search of Cooler Chip Materials
Discovered Materials has closed a $9 million seed round led by Lightspeed India Partners, with participation from Peak XV Partners and angel investor Paul Graham. The startup plans to use swarms of AI agents to discover new materials for more thermally efficient chips, addressing the heat and energy demands of data centers. Their pipeline, combining Anthropic models with custom physics models, can now run thousands of exploratory guesses daily, a significant leap from the twenty per day during the founders' PhD research.
